Job Trends Find Hiring Up in Manufacturing, Health and Food Services Sectors

Job growth continues to be healthy in the manufacturing, health care and food services sectors, with a number of major companies also announcing expansion plans over the next several months, including Reb Robin Gourmet Burgers and Boeing Corporation, according to Forbes.

Financial information company Sageworks recently conducted a financial statement analysis of privately held businesses in industries that have been hiring and found that each of the industries that have been adding jobs have had a good sales track record over the past 2 years.

If a business isn’t growing its revenues or if its demand is down, then obviously that business is not going to recruit additional employees anytime soon, Sageworks analyst Libby Bierman told the news agency. "Likewise, if the business is barely profitable, then any hire that will not lead to a direct increase in sales - like a manager position or any overhead personnel - would be an ill investment."

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that there were approximately 3.5 million job openings in the U.S. as of March 2012.
