New Job Trends Survey Finds Recruiters Having a Hard Time Finding Qualified Professionals

Applicants Lack Right Qualifications Image

While companies are starting to see fewer candidates applying for jobs, a new survey has found that recruiters are having a difficult time finding professionals with the right qualifications on their resumes. According to the new study that polled more than 215 recruiters nationwide, just 35% of applicants met the basic experience, education and skills requirements listed in the job description, The Wall Street Journal reports.Recruiters also said that the job-screening process has become increasingly time consuming, mostly due to the fact that many job seekers apply online to several positions in a single blast. Recruiters said it took on average more than 9 hours to screen resumes and applications for just one job opening. The survey found that many qualified job candidates are not actively looking for work, and said that a number of recruiters are beginning to rely more on face-to-face networking for recommendations rather than through social media sites.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that professionals with an advanced degree on their resume have the potential to earn $1,000 more per week than those with some or no college education.According to the new study that polled more than 215 recruiters nationwide, just 35% of applicants met the basic experience, education and skills requirements listed in the job description, The Wall Street Journal reports.Recruiters also said that the job-screening process has become increasingly time consuming, mostly due to the fact that many job seekers apply online to several positions in a single blast.
