Tips for Writing Your Housekeeper CV

Housekeeper Overview

As is probably evident in our housekeeper CV example, it is important to include relevant information from your work history so that it applies to the position you are interested in. Housekeepers must meet a minimum standard of physical fitness and stamina, and many employers ask for competence in organization, communication and punctuality, among other areas. If you have a specific area of cleaning that you focus on or specialize in, include that as well, perhaps in your Professional Summary section and in other sections where natural. For example, some cleaners only work with organic products, and others are especially experienced in getting tough stains out of carpets.

Skills and Knowledge to Include in Your Housekeeper CV

The housekeeper CV example above shows how you can present information so that supervisors or hiring managers want to learn more about you and your experience. In the example, the metric of 99 percent showcases the applicant’s ability to meet room-cleaning deadlines and shows that he is reliable. Furthermore, the private-clients retention rate indicates general housekeeper competence. If you have won awards such as “Employee of the Week” or are recognized by supervisors for your work, list that. In the Skills section, outline both hard and soft skills. Soft skills include communication while hard skills include bilingualism and any computer programs you use.

Tips for Writing an Excellent CV

Paired with our housekeeper CV example is a list of general tips that you can use for any CV, regardless of profession.

  • Avoid high school information unless that is the extent of your education. If you have post-high school education in progress, you can say something such as, “Business degree from John Doe College expected in 2018.” If you have college classes but no degree, you can say something along the lines of, “Coursework in Business, John Doe College.”
  • Move backward for your work and educational experience. Start with your most recent items, and go from there to older experience. There is usually no need to list anything that you did more than 10 years ago.
  • Vary your verbs. For instance, instead of saying “cleaned” many times, you could write, “scrubbed,” “maintained,” “vacuumed” and a host of other terms.
