Dear Mr. Samuels,
When I decided to attend law school, I knew I wanted to become a prosecutor. Upon reading your advertisement on the City, State Bar Association website, I immediately determined I needed to submit my resume for the position with the 9th Judicial District District Attorney’s Office. I have full City, State licensure and a Juris Doctorate from UCLA School of Law.
I have a strong understanding of law and ethics and a belief in social justice and order. My approach includes ensuring the Constitution is upheld while making certain society is protected and criminals are punished. I have excellent litigation and trial practice skills and a good understanding of appropriate plea offers and trial strategies.
I believe no one should ever be above the law and approach prosecution equally without regard to defendants’ socioeconomic standing. I am skilled at anticipating defense strategies and actively work to counter them. Upon reviewing police reports, I make good charging decisions in determining whether a prosecution should be brought.
I would love to be the newest prosecutor for the 9th Judicial District District Attorney’s Office. I await your phone call to schedule an interview and have submitted my transcripts and resume. You can reach me at any time.
Sincerely,
Shayna Booker
