Dear Mr. Jones,
I read with great interest your ad for an Expeditor and am submitting my resume for your review and consideration. I have a background as a construction laborer and also as a warehouse receiving clerk. Both positions prepared me for my current position as a Construction Expeditor at a small construction firm and I am prepared to take on the responsibility offered by J&B Construction.
In my current position I’m responsible for meeting with the contractor prior to the project start to discuss the time table material requirements budget and deadlines. Using MS Project I schedule material orders and delivery dates so they arrive only when they are ready to be used. I maintain frequent contact with the contractor regarding supplies equipment and raw material needs and have contingency plans in place for unexpected work disruptions. I have a degree in business administration which allows me to see the process from a cost benefit perspective and having worked as a construction laborer I understand the importance of having materials when needed. At the end of a project I manage the return of surplus materials.
I look forward to the opportunity to discuss with you my qualifications for this open position. Please feel free to call at your earliest convenience. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Yaretzi Townsend
