New Report Highlights Best Career Choices for Recent College Graduates

A new report has found that adding a college degree to a resume will help job seekers new to the market find work this year.

According to the report by Challenger, Gray & Christmas, college graduates with engineering, finance and computer science degrees have some of the best chances of finding a job after graduation, with growth expected to increase by more than 20 percent in those fields during the next few years, the Huffington Post reports.

Some of the best career choices for graduates with a finance degree on their resume includes financial analyst, cost estimator and human resources, training and labor specialist.

For college graduates with a technology-related degree, the report found there will be continued openings for computer system analysts, information security, web developers and computer network architects.

The news is also good for college graduates with a liberal arts or humanities degree, who should be able to find more jobs in marketing research, social work and management analysis.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that professionals with a postsecondary degree on their resume have the potential to earn $1,000 more per week than those with some or no college education.
