Healthcare Workers ‘Excel at Customer Service’

Those who enjoy working closely with people and take pride in their people skills may find a career in healthcare fits them well.

Writing in the Centre Daily Times, Alice Clark, the Coordinator for Volunteer services at Mount Nittany Medical Center, suggested that people with strong people skills are “in constant demand” in the field.

Indeed, Ms Clark states that students in the industry can expect to select from among a “variety of career choices”, which include nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy and information services – among others.

She also said that there is likely to be “a tremendous need” for employees who work behind the scenes, such as nutritionists and pharmacists.

Employment in the field of healthcare has been growing steadily over the past decade, with US Department of Labor statistics from 2006 revealing an all-time high for job creation as the healthcare sector boasted a total of 14 million jobs that year.
