The extension school at the University of California at Santa Barbara (UCSB) has announced the addition of 9 new courses for professionals looking to add a variety of new skills to their resumes this summer.

According to the Santa Barbara Independent, it's the first time in almost 3 years that the UCSB extension will offer the degree-credit classes at the Ventura Center for residents in neighboring Ventura/Oxnard, Camarillo and Thousand Oaks/Simi Valley.

We recognize that people value having UCSB in their backyard, Michael Brown, dean of UCSB Extension, told the news agency. "The Ventura Center continues to offer important knowledge and skill building programs to the community in areas like paralegal studies, project management and accounting. We are now making these world-class quality degree credit courses available to people once again."

School officials said this summer's special session is ideal for current college students and busy professionals who want to progress toward a degree on a non-traditional schedule.

Those thinking about continuing their education may want to consider taking an online aptitude test to determine a future career path.
