As the U.S. continues recovering from the economic slowdown, Capella University has announced 6 new business programs for professionals looking to add an advanced degree to their resume.
The online university said both its doctorate in business management and the doctor of business administration (DBA) will now offer the specializations, which will include accounting, IT management and project management.According to the school, both doctoral business programs offer the same core curriculum, but will vary depending on the chosen field of speciality.The business management doctorate program will concentrate on scholarly research and theory for those interested in pursuing a career in education, research or consulting. Accounting specialties will include ethical and legal issues and the strategic implications of accounting issues and practices, as well as include intensive instruction in electronic research technology. Capella’s new IT management will focus on the role of IT leadership in the global economy, including offshore, contract and muticultural workers. Specialities for the project management degree include advanced concepts in advanced risk management and practices.The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that professionals with an advanced degree on their resume can earn $1,000 more per week than those with some college education or less.
