Florida’s IRSC Adds 2 Criminal Justice Degree Programs

Looking to address an increase in demand from students wanting to add a criminal justice degree to their resume, Indian River State College (IRSC) has launched 2 new programs for those interested in working across a variety of related fields.

Beginning this fall, the Florida school will offer a bachelor of science degree in information technology and security management, as well as a bachelor of science in public administration with a concentration on public policy, leadership and emergency management.
Because we work with so many businesses and organizations around the community, we’re constantly talking with them and monitoring needs that they have in their companies, IRSC President Edwin Massey told the TC Palm. “These programs came out very strong in terms of need and job availability.”

The IT degree will help prepare students to work in the in the emerging field of electronic data security, while the public administration discipline will focus on training students for careers in local, county, state, federal and government agencies.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment opportunities for information security analysts are expected to increase by 22% through the end of the decade.
