As you requested, I am writing this formal request for a transfer.
To start, let me reiterate that I have worked at this branch of Company Name for four years and it has been a great experience. You were confident enough to hire me right out of college and I cannot express how beneficial what I have learned has been and what the relationships I developed have meant to me. I have worked hard to exhibit the level of professionalism and customer service that Northeastern clients expect.
Unfortunately, my wife and I need to relocate for personal reasons. And while I can certainly look for a new job, I want to continue my career in banking with Northeastern. That is why I write this formal transfer letter, requesting a transfer to one of the branches in San Diego. While Human Resources has informed me I need to go on the company website and apply for open positions, I am aware that this process can be circumvented if a department head makes a recommendation.
When you review my history here, you will see I have been an exemplary employee that strives to exceed expectations for every client and project. My relationship here is very important to me and I appreciate you considering intervening in my request.
