Dear Mr. Locke:
This letter confirms our meeting this afternoon that your Technical Project Manager position with Colt Engineering is being terminated, effective April 12, 2015.
As you know, corporate restructuring has necessitated the elimination of many positions and a number of departments that fall into our lowest streams of revenue. This unfortunately includes Special Projects whose budgets have not aligned with its profit line in two years.
Enclosed is the agreement that needs to be signed for our records. Once it has been returned, you will receive a week’s severance pay for every year that you have worked with Colt. You will also receive all vacation, sick and personal pay that you have not used in the last 14 months, totaling 26 days. Your health coverage will remain in place for six months after your termination date.
Please note that this termination should not be construed as an opinion of your performance. Your loyalty and perseverance on behalf of Colt has always been appreciated. When the time comes, we will be more than happy to supply you with an exemplary recommendation.
Regards,
Roger Beach
