When writing a speech language pathologist termination letter, you do not need to be specific as to the details of the position. A good letter informs the pathologist as to why they are being terminated and how they will receive their final pay.

Dear Benjamin Holt,
It is with sincere regret that I inform you that your position with the organization is being eliminated due to budget cuts. Your final day with the group will be April 15th.
The decision making process when it comes to personnel and budget issues is never easy. We have truly enjoyed having you with our organization and your accomplishments will always be appreciated. However, your very short time with the group makes it impossible for us to retain you over the many senior pathologists on staff. We will be including a letter of recommendation in your final paperwork to hopefully make your job hunting process more productive.
Your final paycheck will be generated on April 16th and it will be available in the human resources office on April 17th. Prior to releasing your final paycheck, we will require you to fill out a package of paperwork that will include your options for retaining health insurance at your own cost. Your final check will include all remaining paid vacation and sick days. We wish you nothing but the utmost success in all of your future career endeavors.
Sincerely Yours,
Basil Ottley
