Planning a move can fill a to-do list with plenty of necessary activities. One of the first steps will be giving notice to your current apartment manager or owner. Chances are good that your apartment lease spells out the timing and notification requirements for leaving, so read over the contract to make sure you are meeting every step. If you are leaving the apartment because of a dispute, safety issues or some other problem, you will want to address the issue in your termination letter and indicate the dates and times that you communicated the issue to management. Otherwise, simply make sure you are giving the appropriate notice within the appropriate time frame as specified in your lease contract.

RE: Notification of intent to vacate Unit 2
This letter is to provide you with my 30-day notice that I will be moving out of Unit 2 as of the end of my current lease, October 1, 2014. I am leaving the area to take a new job in another town.
I would like to schedule a move-out inspection with you anytime after 5 p.m. between September 29 and October 2. I fully expect to be refunded the $1200 deposit I gave to you on October 1, 2012, since I will be leaving the unit in pristine condition.
If any questions arise after October 1, please feel free to contact me at 000-000-0000 or City, State, Zip Code.
Sincerely,
Brady Kline
