As an aircraft mechanic, you know how important it is for all members of a crew to work together to ensure the ultimate safety and smooth operation of a flight unit. The same is true from the perspective of your employer, as they need all of their crew members to be present, accounted for and managing their own duties toward safe flight operations. When leaving your job, it’s in everyone’s best interests to provide a concise aircraft mechanic resignation letter. This provides the employer with adequate time to find a replacement and ensure that aircraft safety is never compromised.

Dear Mr. Sims,
It was with great sadness and excitement that I inform you of my acceptance into the Air Force this week. I have been provided with my basic training date and will leave for San Antonio on May 2. Therefore, this is my resignation letter to provide you with written confirmation that my last day of work here is May 1, 2015.
You have been a great mentor for me in this field of aircraft maintenance. I know that I would never have finished my certifications and gained entry to the Air Force as a non-commissioned officer, if I had not worked for you. You have propelled me forward in my career and for that, I am thankful.
I want to make sure I do everything you need for me to do to ensure a smooth changeover for everyone in the crew. Please let me know what your expectations are during my last two weeks here.
Sincerely,
Mark Morrison
