Many people who want to a pursue a career in hospitality may find that a postsecondary degree in business on a resume can help them transition into higher-paying management positions. Now, the State University of New York (SUNY) has announced a new partnership with the Suffolk County Community College Culinary Arts Center to offer area culinary arts students 4-year management programs. Starting this fall, students who attend the community college's culinary arts program will be able to enroll at SUNY Delhi, a 4-year state institution in upstate New York, according to Riverhead Local News. Students will be able to earn a bachelor of business administration degree with a concentration restaurant management. Jim Fogarty of the Suffolk's Culinary Arts Center recently announced the partnership, saying that the program will be more affordable than many other national culinary institutions and graduates will have the potential to earn more throughout their careers. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, job opportunities for restaurant and food service managers should be good through the end of the decade, especially for those with advanced training. |
