The slowly recovering economy is giving people another chance to try a different career path. While some people may be heading back to school, others are looking at an industry that offers both versatility and everyday excitement - hospitality.

A new restaurant in Chesterfield, Missouri, has people from all industries vying for 150 spots, according to KSDK-TV. More than 700 people have currently applied for a chance to work at the new Charlie Gitto restaurant and they come from many different professional backgrounds.

Charlie Gitto, owner of his namesake restaurant, told the news source that he has seen applicants who have a background in real estate and people who just graduated with Master’s degrees, along with those who have had prior hospitality experience.

“Some [applicants are] in the industry, [while] others are making career changes - teachers and other professional people...are getting into the hospitality industry,” Giotto said.

The restaurant is still accepting applications for all positions, ranging from management to serving.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the hospitality industry employed 13,114,000 people during June 2010.ADNFCR-1502-ID-19920392-ADNFCR
