An aptitude test may indicate that an individual has the skill set to enter a career in the culinary industry. Earning a postsecondary education may help a person land a career in the field and expand upon their passion for cooking.

Recently, Niagara County Community College (NCCC) in New York asked for help from architects to design a building for culinary arts. NCCC James Klyczek said the school received an overwhelming response with eight bids from individuals interested in planning the new structure, according to the Niagara Gazette.

Many individuals choose to embark on a career in the culinary field every day, and NCCC is just one school that is making upgrades to accommodate the growing number of students. Klyczek told the news source that he plans to have a construction team assembled by February 2 to begin work on the building, slated to be erected inside of the old Rainbow Centre Mall.

"This is an exciting and innovative project that will have a positive impact for our city, the NCCC students and our tourism infrastructure," mayor Paul Dyster told the news source.

Head chef jobs are projected to grow by approximately 1% over the next 8 years, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
