Areas with relatively warmer climates in the United States are preparing for cruise season, which could potentially bring in more jobs for those interested in careers in traveling. The city of Charleston, South Carolina, is gearing up for their arrivals for the year-round cruise season, and some cruise companies are beginning to take notice, according to Charleston's ABC affiliate, WVIC. Celebrity Mercury cruises, which usually disembarks in Los Angeles, California, sees the city as a potential new option for their travelers. In addition to providing jobs for people who are interested in the traveling industry, these ships arriving will bolster Charleston's economy. According to the news provider, each cruise ship brought into the area will collect $323,000 in local spending and will support more than 400 full-time jobs in the area. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that careers in water traveling will increase 15% by 2018.  |
