Those involved in the entertainment industry seem to have incredibly glamorous and exotic lives. By the same token, performers often have to work long hours and be expected to learn the careful nuances of each character or personality they are expected to portray. Some prefer to work onstage in front of a live audience, enjoying the electricity of an in-the-moment performance, while others prefer the security of working in front of the camera.

One such performer is Jessica Biel, who recently made the transition from working primarly on TV programs and films, such as The Illusionist, to performing onstage in Guys and Dolls. In fact, she made her first musical theater performance this weekend with the Los Angeles Philharmonic.

When asked whether her singing debut would eventually bring her to Broadway, Biel reportedly replied, "that's like my little 8-year-old inside [of] me is cartwheeling around, thinking about that idea," expressing her excitement at the thought.

For those who hope to become actors and actresses, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reveals that employment in this field will grow by 11 percent up until 2016.
