Individuals who enjoy customer service and accommodating requests may benefit by pursuing a career in hotel management. Presenting more excitement and better scenery than a call center, hotels are the top-tier of luxury customer service, offering a variety of benefits to their patrons. Professionals who enjoy making people's days brighter should consider looking into hotel management.

Although traveling has been at a lull since the recession due to many people cutting vacations out of their tightening budget, the hotel industry is preparing for a major expansion, according to the New York Times.

Approximately 100 hotels are planning to open around the United States this year, with 46 of those being in New York City alone. These statistics do not include hotels that are opening in suburbs or smaller cities.

Mark Lamanno, president of Smith Travel Research, told the news provider that while the country may be facing a recession, "hotel building cycles rarely mesh just right with economic cycles."

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, hotels provided 1.9 million jobs in 2008.ADNFCR-1502-ID-19564089-ADNFCR
