Applying for a new job can sometimes be stressful, since applying for jobs can take up a lot of time by creating resumes and networking for potential job leads, However, creating an effective electronic resume can make the application process a little easier.

The internet has become a huge tool for people trying to navigate the job market and learning how to harness what it has to offer can helpmake you stand out, according to the Washington Post.

Create a generic electronic resume in order to constantly have something to send out if there is a job application that catches your eye. Having it stored on a computer will also make it easier to keep up to date.

Make sure to use simple fonts that won’t get jumbled if they are emailed or posted and stick to a font size between 10 and 12, in order to ensure that the recipient can actually read the resume.

Along with creating and sending out an electronic resume, follow up with the hiring manager to confirm that they have received it. To be safe, applicants may also want to send a hard copy via snail mail.

The job market is quickly recovering and more job opportunities are popping up, so it is even more important to make sure that resumes are up to date and easily accessible. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the unemployment rate dropped in July from 9.7% to 9.5%.ADNFCR-1502-ID-19921783-ADNFCR
