New Mobile Apps Can Help Candidates Zero in on Jobs

On top of the many social networking and professional websites, job seekers can use a variety of mobile applications to help them manage their ongoing search.

Candidates getting ready to prepare for an interview can download Interview Buzz, an app that can help job seekers go over practice questions and answers that may come up during the meeting, according to Fox News. The program also includes the "do's and don'ts" of interview etiquette including attire suggestions and resume formatting.

The professional networking site LinkedIn also now has a downloadable app that allows job seekers to search profiles, update their resumes and keep in touch with professional contacts and friends who can help them build a network that will be available wherever they go.

ABContacts is a great tool that helps candidates manage and organize their contacts based on categories that include names, companies, job titles and departments.

BeamME is a free business card exchange application available for the iPhone that allows job seekers to send their personal or business information to any mobile device or computer.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there were 3.2 million job openings in the U.S. as of December 2011.
