In fact, the industry is one of Yahoo!'s eight most quickly growing job markets and offers a range of roles in private agencies, residential care facilities and private homes, as reported by the North American Press Syndicate.

Registered nurses, health aides, and nursing and physical therapists are among the most in-demand positions included on the list, the news provider states.

And jobs data from the US Department of Labor backed up the evidence that healthcare is an industry which is maintaining momentum in the current financial climate, citing figures that showed jobs in the sector increased during January.

Meanwhile, a recent healthcare career fair was held by Mountain State University, which invited employers and would-be employees to investigate what the sector has to offer.
