Professionals with a business background on their resume know they face many roadblocks when trying to start their own company. Now, a new study has found that Massachusetts may be one of the best places for entrepreneurs in the future, especially as the economy begins to rebound.

According to the new Global Entrepreneurship Monitor Massachusetts 2010 Report, conducted by Babson College, entrepreneurs in the state are optimistic and feel well-positioned to move forward in the global marketplace.

The study found that early-stage entrepreneurial activity is also higher than the national average, driven by new technologies and sage investments. In both early and existing businesses, the study found that entrepreneurship was highest among non-white males.

Governor Deval Patrick said it's evident that new and small enterprises are helping the Commonwealth to advance future business development.

"Small businesses and entrepreneurs drive our economy - helping Massachusetts recover from the global recession faster and stronger than most states," Patrick stressed. "We are showing the nation how to win the future."

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that 2.5 million jobs were created by new establishments in the U.S. during 2010.
