Psychology degrees are one of the most popular majors in college college degrees. Now, in Oklahoma, those degrees are being recruited in order to help out with a new hotline.

According to NewsOK.com, Free & Clear, a tobacco cessation hotline operator, is looking to add about 20 “quit-coaches” to the hotline.

The service is free to callers looking to quit, and costs the state about $150 per person, which includes the cost of nicotine patches or gum. Part of the funding comes from the state’s Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust (TSET).

“It’s been a goal of mine for the state,” Tracey Strader, executive director of the Oklahoma TSET, said to the news source. “We want to see as much of the settlement money, or any state money, staying in the state as possible.”

Free & Clear is looking to hire people who have a bachelor’s degree in psychology. According to the news provider, quit coaches $15.50 per hour.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the employment of psychologists are expected to grow 12% between 2008 and 2018.ADNFCR-1502-ID-19892976-ADNFCR
