Chicago software firm seeks computer science degree-holders
Entrenched in a highly specialized and relatively new field, computer science professionals continue to demonstrate the value that their industry can produce to businesses, schools, healthcare and society at large. Beyond technical jargon, some fields see computer experts as elemental aspects for success, and a vital part of planning for the future. Preparatory degrees for this career path may become invaluable as employers seek to expand.

One software developer, Sword Ciboodle, has announced that it is looking to quadruple its workforce in Chicago to meet the demands of its growing business.

The company, which creates software for phone, e-mail and internet systems, currently employs about 300 people worldwide. The developers began building a presence in North America last year, after successful stints in Europe, Australia and South Africa.

"We are delighted to be in the position where we need to make a significant investment in people to help support our U.S. growth, and finding the right people is a hugely important step in this company's roadmap," said CEO Paul White.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics determined that the computer scientists and database administrators field is expected to grow by 37% until 2016, which is about 28% more growth than the average occupation over the same time period.
