It has been no secret that the recession has caused many individuals to lose their jobs and has made it especially difficult for career seekers to find employment. Many businesses that were affected by the economic crisis have had to either enact a hiring freeze or drastically cut back on salary offers and new employees.

However, employment rates have improved in recent months, with the most recent statistics showing that 9.7% of Americans are unemployed - down 0.3 percentage points from the previous month. California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger believes that this is in large part due to Obama's stimulus funds, according to Reuters.

Despite California having a high unemployment rate of 12.1%, the governor recently said that the stimulus plan had helped create 150,000 new jobs in his state alone. The Obama Administration has gone on the record to say that the funding has helped create more than 2 million jobs nationally.

However, individuals who are looking for jobs may want to take a look at their degrees. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the most recent reports shows that the unemployment rate is only 2.8% among individuals who hold a bachelor's degree.ADNFCR-1502-ID-19630237-ADNFCR
