Lipscomb University's College of Business in Nashville, Tennessee, has announced a unique scholarship program for students looking to add an advanced degree to their resume. The school's new One Degree Away from Making A Difference Scholarship video contest is offering graduate students a chance at receiving a full-tuition scholarship. Applicants have to submit a simple 2-minute video that demonstrates how they want to make a difference in their community, organization or the world. "Lipscomb's graduate studies in business program has built a reputation as a cutting-edge program with a track record for producing emerging leaders prepared to make a difference in the world. This scholarship contest is our way of making it possible for someone with dreams of effecting positive change in an industry or community to receive the support they need to help realize those dreams," Turney Stevens, dean of Lipscomb's College of Business, noted. In all, 5 finalists' videos will be chosen to be uploaded onto YouTube. Students will then be able to vote for their favorite video between June 28 and July 15. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, professionals with an advanced postsecondary degree on their resume can earn $1,000 more per week than those with some or no college education. |
