Businesses around the country are starting to find their footing again as the job market begins to stabilize. Many new jobs are popping up across the country as people are looking for jobs and businesses are able to hire. One state is helping spur employment by offering a tax credit to small businesses that create new jobs.

According to The Chicago Sun Times, the Illinois Small Business Job Creation Tax Credit is helping small businesses hire new employees. The $2,500 tax credit applied to companies with less than 50 employees that create new full-time jobs and retain those positions for at least one year.

The positions must pay at least $13.75 an hour, with a minimum of $25,025 annual salary, according to the news source. Tax-credit certificates will be awarded July 2011.

“It won’t pay a full salary, but it encourages companies to go ahead with a hire they might be considering,” Peggy Wilson, CEO of de Giulio Kitchen Design, said to the news source.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the unemployment rate for July remained at 9.5% for the second consecutive month.ADNFCR-1502-ID-19927977-ADNFCR
