The financial industry is slowly coming back along with the economy after a long rollercoaster ride. However, now finance job opportunities are becoming available and people are quickly being hired into these positions.

According to NJ.com, Plainfield, New Jersey’s vacant finance jobs may be filled as soon as next week.

The state Department of Community Affairs told the news source that the candidate for the chief financial officer is William Scherer, but Mayor Sharon Robinson-Briggs could not confirm the name.

“I spoke to him personally yesterday, and he is thrilled at the idea of coming and working with the city of Plainfield,” said Robinson-Briggs to the news source.

The candidate would earn between $90,000 to $95,000 a year, according to the news provider.

The city has been without a finance officer since 2008, and the state Division of Local Government Services gave the city until Monday to find a new finance officer.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of people in the financial industry is expected to grow by at least 20% between 2008 and 2018.ADNFCR-1502-ID-19903209-ADNFCR
