LKQ Brings Accounting Jobs to Nashville

While the economy is slowly starting to recover, many companies are starting to relocate and reorganize their remaining staff. However, one company's expansion will create much welcomed jobs.

LKQ, an auto parts manufacurer, is consolidating its accounting department and moving it to Nashville, Tennessee, according to WSMV - TV.

As part of the move, LKQ will be looking to hire more than 200 people for their new accounting, IT and payroll department. The jobs are coming from the consolidation of the company's various regional accounting offices.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the accounting field will experience a "faster than average" growth in employment due to the new banking and accounting regulations. Employment of accountants and auditors is expected to grow 22% between 2008 and 2018, leading to an addition of 279,000 jobs. In 2008, 1,290,600 people were employed as accountants throughout the country. The median wage of an accountant in 2008 was $59,430 a year.ADNFCR-1502-ID-19828695-ADNFCR
