Jobs in the business realm have taken a beating when the economy tanked. However, as the job market begins to get better and the economy starts to recover businesses are starting to expand again through hiring. According to the AP, the audit, tax and advisory firm KPMG LLP is expanding its Fairfax County, Virginia, office. The expansion is set to bring almost 375 additional jobs to the office, although many jobs will be for people moving from the companies Washington, D.C. office. Governor Bob McDonnell approved a $250,000 grant for the project from the Governor's Opportunity Fund, according to the news source. KPMG LLP is the U.S. member of the KPMG International Cooperative, who's firms have 140,000 employees in 146 countries, according to the company site. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the employment of accountants is expected to grow by 22% between 2008 and 2018. The job growth will be driven primarily by the increase in the number of businesses, and changing financial laws and corporate governance regulations, according to the BLS.  |
