In Hollywood, anything goes. Stars can become the next big thing only to be brought back to obscurity at the drop of a hat. Although success in the industry relies on star power, it's the crew backstage that does all of the grunt work. Still, those who like being a part of a major industry should look into a career in entertainment.

One story that has been dominating the headlines is the recent Conan O'Brien and Jay Leno debacle. With O'Brien leaving The Tonight Show and Leno reclaiming his spot, thereby getting rid of his primetime talk show, NBC will now have to put together an hour-long drama, creating jobs for the network, according to Marketplace.

"If you have, say, a one-hour scripted series, you're looking at about 150 direct jobs on that, and then another 400 indirect jobs," Jay Kyser, member of the Los Angeles Economic Development Council, explained to the news provider.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, careers in the television industry are expected to increase by 11% by 2018.ADNFCR-1502-ID-19566670-ADNFCR
