For some, there's no business like show business. The movie industry can be an exciting field for those who are interested in a career in entertainment. Whether it be producing movies or acting in them, the film industry can offer an abundance of possibilities for those who love the media and pop culture.

While it's the big-budget movies that make the headlines, the studios that produce them lay the ground work. Daniel Battsek, the former chief for Miramax Films, has been in negotiations to head National Geographic Films, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Due to the slumping economy, Miramax was forced to let go 70% of their staff, with Battsek among those on the cutting board. The production company also had plans to close their New York and Los Angeles offices, forcing them to only release three movies a year.

While being the head of a movie studio may be a little harder to attain, those interested in the movies should consider producing. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, producers earn a median hourly wage of $30.98.ADNFCR-1502-ID-19543904-ADNFCR
