Although those with careers in the entertainment industry have been facing a pretty tough year by some comparisons due to the economy, recently blockbusters are helping the field get back on its feet. Hollywood depends on large movie openings, which is why so many workers are excited about news of record setting releases. A career in the movie industry can range from directors and actors to cameramen and special effects artists, providing something for everyone.

Hollywood may be back on the upswing with the recent holiday weekend raking in record numbers in recent history, according to the Seattle Times. With films such as Avatar and Sherlock Holmes dominating the box office, the holiday weekend set a record with the highest number of tickets sold over a three-day period, reaching 37.3 million.

Normally, weekend sales are brought in by just one blockbuster movie release, like The Dark Night or the Twilight saga. These numbers could encourage studios to start rolling out more movies, providing employment opportunities to those who want a career in entertainment.

The movie industry could be a great career move for younger workers, as the Bureau of Labor Statistics revealed that 54 percent of motion picture workers are 34 or younger.ADNFCR-1502-ID-19531195-ADNFCR
